Migration Services

Three-tier migration service plus Migration Success credits to bring your workloads to Atlantic.Net.

Atlantic.Net Migration Services

Migration Services

Atlantic.Net knows that migrating production and development environments can be daunting for IT teams that are already stretched thin. We offer three tiered migration services covering the full range from defined-directory data moves up to full bare-metal restores and Physical-to-Virtual (P2V) migrations ‐ most clients fit one of the three cleanly.

If you have custom requirements, that's not a problem. Your Atlantic.Net Sales Representative, alongside an Atlantic.Net Managed Services Engineer, will build a custom-fit plan for your team. Migration credits earned on lower tiers can be applied toward a higher tier of service. Atlantic.Net strives to never say no and always provide a pathway to success.

Migration Services Tiers

Atlantic.Net offers three types of migration service to suit your business needs:

Standard Migrations

Standard Migrations

The Standard Migration service covers migrating defined data directories from your current system ‐ on-premises or at another provider ‐ into Atlantic.Net. Atlantic.Net's Security Operations Center (SOC) handles the data move and ensures all of your specified data lands in the new environment. Common Standard migrations include cPanel migrations, file share migrations, and Plesk migrations ‐ we run these for new clients daily.

We aim to make the entire migration process seamless and affordable. Through our Migration Success program, customers bringing a new environment to Atlantic.Net qualify for a migration credit applied to the account when the account meets a minimum revenue requirement of $500. The credit caps at 4 hours, an $800 value.*

Advanced Migrations

Advanced Migrations

The next step up is the Atlantic.Net Advanced Migration. The migration is assigned to a dedicated engineer who works through your current and target environment plans, reviews both for compatibility, and helps build the migration plan.

Once both teams are confident in the plan, the Atlantic.Net engineer sets up systems that fall under Atlantic.Net's scope of support for Managed Services, migrates all specified data, and verifies the new environment is working correctly per the plan. The customer signs off on the migration when complete.

As with the Standard tier, Advanced Migrations are designed to be seamless and priced competitively in the industry. The Advanced package is also available with the Migration Success program: a migration credit applies if you bring a new environment to Atlantic.Net, opt for Atlantic.Net's Managed Services per VM, and meet a minimum of $800 in monthly revenue with a 12-month commitment. The credit caps at 10 hours, a $3,000 value.*

Enterprise Migrations

Enterprise Migrations

Enterprise Migrations cover everything from the Standard and Advanced services and add the engineering team's most complex moves: complete bare-metal restores (BMR) and Physical-to-Virtual (P2V) migrations.

Atlantic.Net's Professional Services teams bring decades of combined experience. After the Advanced Migration setup steps, engineers use specialist software to perform a pre-seed of your current environment to Atlantic.Net's Cloud environments ‐ minimizing the configuration changes required on your side and enabling testing of the systems before any cutover, with the same software you currently run.

Enterprise workloads are typically the most challenging migrations. The number of engineers assigned to a project scales to the work. Planning is the bulk of the engagement, and we recognize that many clients also need a fast migration once the plan is locked in.

As with Standard and Advanced, Enterprise Migrations are designed to be seamless and competitively priced, and the package is available under the Migration Success program: a migration credit applies if you bring a new environment to Atlantic.Net, opt for Managed Services per VM, and meet a minimum of $1,200 in monthly revenue with a 12-month commitment. The credit caps at 20 hours, a $6,000 value.*

No two migrations are the same. Atlantic.Net's cloud-migration expertise will deliver your project as quickly as possible ‐ most scenarios complete with near-zero downtime.

*Migrations typically take 2–6 weeks, depending on scope.

*All pre-planning migration work is performed Monday through Friday between 9 AM and 5 PM Eastern; migration cutover can be performed 24/7/365.

*Migration services that require allocation of a large timeframe are billed at $200.00 per hour for unmanaged servers and $160.00 per hour for managed servers.

Frequently Asked Questions About Migration Services

The Migration Service is a three-tier engagement (Standard, Advanced, Enterprise) that brings your workloads onto Atlantic.Net's Cloud Platform or Dedicated Server Hosting. Each tier scales the engineering depth and the work covered ‐ from defined-directory data moves up through full bare-metal restores and Physical-to-Virtual (P2V) migrations ‐ with optional Migration Success credits offsetting cost when revenue thresholds are met.

Defined-directory data migrations, cPanel migrations, Plesk migrations, and file-share migrations on Standard. Full environment migrations with engineer-led planning on Advanced. Bare-metal restores (BMR), Physical-to-Virtual (P2V) migrations, and pre-seeded cutovers on Enterprise. Source environments commonly include on-premises infrastructure, colocation, AWS, Azure, GCP, and other cloud or hosting providers.

Standard moves specific data directories using SOC engineers ‐ best for cPanel, Plesk, and file-share moves. Advanced assigns a dedicated engineer who reviews both environments, builds a custom plan, executes the move, and walks through customer sign-off. Enterprise adds the most complex work: bare-metal restores, P2V migrations, pre-seeded cutovers, and engineering teams sized to the project. The comparison matrix above breaks the differences down line by line.

The Migration Success program offsets migration cost when you bring a new environment to Atlantic.Net and meet a minimum monthly revenue (and, on the higher tiers, a 12-month commitment with Managed Services per VM). Migration credit caps scale with the tier ‐ 4 hours ($800) on Standard, 10 hours ($3,000) on Advanced, and 20 hours ($6,000) on Enterprise.

Migrations typically take 2 to 6 weeks, depending on the scope of work. Pre-planning happens Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Eastern; migration cutover can be performed 24/7/365 to minimize impact on business hours.

Most scenarios complete with near-zero downtime. On Enterprise tier, engineers pre-seed the source environment to Atlantic.Net's Cloud, which lets us test the new environment before the cutover; only the final cutover causes a brief, planned switchover. Standard and Advanced migrations have a comparable pattern scaled to the work involved.

A bare-metal restore brings an entire server ‐ operating system, applications, configuration, and data ‐ back to a fresh physical or virtual server, without depending on the original hardware. BMR is the standard pattern for moving from on-premises servers or third-party hosts onto Atlantic.Net's infrastructure when the source cannot be reached for an in-place agent install.

A Physical-to-Virtual (P2V) migration converts a workload running on physical hardware into a virtual machine on Atlantic.Net's Cloud Platform. The OS, applications, and data move into a hypervisor-managed VM that you can scale, snapshot, replicate, and back up like any other cloud workload. P2V is included on the Enterprise tier.

Migration services that require allocation of a large timeframe are billed at $200.00 per hour for unmanaged servers and $160.00 per hour for managed servers. Atlantic.Net's sales team will scope the engagement and confirm pricing before the work begins.

Yes. Common source environments include on-premises servers, colocation, AWS, Azure, GCP, and other cloud or hosting providers. The Atlantic.Net engineering team scopes the move, builds the migration plan, executes the cutover, and validates the new environment so your team can sign off with confidence.
