How much does VPS hosting cost?
Typically, a VPS web hosting account with Atlantic.Net is billed hourly, and you only pay for what you use. Plans start at $10 per month billed hourly and scale up to hundreds of dollars, depending upon your specific requirements. Generally, VPS hosting is cheaper than dedicated server hosting.
Is VPS better than VPN?
VPS and VPN are completely different services, but VPS offers much more than a VPN. You can provision a VPS server and set up a VPN using it, which you might say makes VPS a better service than a VPN.
Is a Virtual Private Server or Dedicated Server Hosting right for me?
In general, if you only have the need for a few VPS servers and you don’t see your workload continuing to grow, a Cloud VPS server is a great, and cost-effective solution that will most likely meet your needs. That being said, you may still want to take advantage of the added benefits that come with a Dedicated Host. Why do Windows Virtual Private Servers cost more than Linux VPS?
All of the Linux Distributions we feature on the Atlantic.Net Cloud have zero licensing costs. The Linux operating system fosters an open-source community, and you will find an abundance of enterprise-grade applications available online that are completely free to use. However, Microsoft charges a license fee for each Windows Server instance. As your web hosting provider, we take care of the web server licensing process for you and the amount you are billed each month includes the licensing fee. We provide multiple versions of Microsoft Windows Server – including Windows Server 2025, 2022, 2019, 2016, 2012 R2, and 2008 R2 SP1 – in Datacenter and Standard editions, with and without Desktop Experience.
What is the difference between a Cloud VPS and a Dedicated Server?
A Cloud VPS is a virtual server hosted on a shared platform with guaranteed system resources (CPU, Disk Space, and Memory). A dedicated host is a physical dedicated server or physical servers that are dedicated to a single user, and the user has all the resources on the server. The workload of a VPS server varies from running websites, workstations, or general-purpose servers. A dedicated host is usually used for hosting a significant number of websites or apps, intensive workloads, large numbers of VPS, or large production databases. Why should I choose Virtual Private Server (VPS) from Atlantic.Net?

To recap, shared hosting is when your server shares unreserved resources on a host.
